What does Easter mean to you? QuestionLaugh

how can we even expect to hear from God when we don’t even care to listen to what He’s said before.

Wow, this question hits home.

Easter to me means… my salvation and the belief I have in the resurrection of Jesus is evidently valid. For that, I must live my life worthy of Jesus – completely repentant and passionately living for Him.

In Lovewith the Son.

awesomeness! thanks belle!

yeah i guess we used to be slaves to the fear of what's gonna happen to us after we die but the resurrection of Jesus made us confident to even say “death, where's your sting?”. now our hope is that when Christ returns, we'll be like him [having a glorified body (no sickness, tiredness, etc.)] and we'll finally be in His presence.

and i guess we also used to worry how we're gonna be “good enough” before the presence of the Almighty God. i remember watching people do penitence in the philippines and i was intrigued as to why they were hurting themselves and why even some of them were getting crucified just like Christ. only if they'd realize that God loves us so much that He bothered becoming like one of us and He paid the penalty that we should be paying, they won't be doing what they did; we no longer have to inflict pain in our bodies or sacrifice anything just be righteous before God's sight.

God through His Son showed us how to live and love. He gave us joy and peace that aren't dependent on happenings. and the most awesomest benefit of being one of His is that He made us heirs of what He has.

to me easter means God is awesome for being the greatest lover of all time!

how can we even expect to hear from God when we don’t even care to listen to what He’s said before.

I agree with faithlegs, Easter should be celebrated just as much if not more than Christmas. Not only thankful for when Jesus was born but WHY he was born and why he Died and Rose again (Easter).

Easter represents the “equinox”. When there's more sunlight than darkness on our hemisphere.

It represents the beginning of spring.

Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as:

: a feast that commemorates Christ's resurrection and is observed with variations of date due to different calendars on the first Sunday after the paschal full moon (http://www.merriam-webster.com…..

The definition approaches it in connection with the resurrection of Christ and how it relates to dating and/or season.

Easter itself as I've learned is not originally Christian; it was of pagan origin. Eventually, it was integrated into the church tradition by celebrating the resurrection of Jesus replacing the pagan origin – thus, the dictionary definition.

But I believe the question is meant to address the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In that context, what does it mean to me?

Resurrection  is at the heart my faith. Everything about my Christian faith rises or falls with it. But since it's one of the most proven event in history, Hallelujah, my faith stands on an immovable, indestructible foundation. Praise God, Jesus did not remain in His tomb; He rose and defeated death, hell, and the grave!!!

Good Job
