Well well well…What do we have here?

We all have heard the philosophical question, “If God is so powerful, can He create a rock that He can't carry?”

We all know that God is omnipotent (all-powerfull) and that nothing is impossible with God, Luke 1:37. For God to create a “rock that He can't carry” would then rule out His omnipotence.

So, we reask the question…

Can God create a rock that He can't carry?

man I don't know the answer to that one but I do have another question: can God change history? Obviously he can influence the future, which becomes history, but can he influence history that has already passed? Even if he did, would it matter? How would we know?

ouch now my head hurts…

star-trek-ish! nice!

i believe He can. God is eternal (1 Timothy 1:17 KJV). and God is the Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1:8 KJV); beginning and the end as we perceive them; claiming He's all-powerful eternity past and eternity future. notice “past” and “future” in eternity, can our finite minds understand that? He's all-powerful to do anything either in history past or history future. just imagine Him dealing with the 6.7 billion free-willed people and still accomplish His eternal will. (time? what time? there is no time.)

how can we even expect to hear from God when we don’t even care to listen to what He’s said before.

nice. I think that explanation makes a lot of sense. I think in this issue and maybe for MTO's question also it could be that if we think there is a potential limitation to God's power, its probably actually only a limitation in our human comprehension of the divine.
