Dear God,

I need your help. I’ve lost my faith I had so strong a long time ago after many dissapointments in my life. I know that’s when it’s suppose to be the strongest, but I let the negative out weigh my belief. It’s almost so much easier to be mad and expect nothing so there’s no disappointments. I’ve let my past hurts and bad situations affect my thinking. I’m paranoid that im going to lose or be betrayed by the people I care for most. Due to this, I become over bearing in my actions and needs from them when its not their place. I make them feel bad at the time because that’s what im expecting them to do to me even tho they haven’t yet. Then when I see how much it has bothered them, I become over bearing with apologies to try and fix my mistakes. I find myself still very angry at those past people and cant get past it myself. My family has hurt me for years, and Im angry. I want to forgive them and sometimes I think I do. Then for no reason at all, the anger comes back and I don’t want to be around them. I trust no one, and I seem to test and test people to prove that they care for me. Eventually I end up pushing them away by my actions. I have a fear about never being good enough for anyone, yet my actions cause people to want to stay away or not talk to me. I’m ruining a friendship with my best friend right now because of this, and I don’t want to do it anymore. I want to change and be happy. I want to be that person I know my friends and family love and rely upon. I’m feeling very lost and need your help. I don’t want to be angry. I don’t want to feel lonely and paranoid that everyone eventually will abandon me.

Please, I need guidance

Hi tiffy55,

I just want to let you know that no matter what mistakes we've made in the past, God is a God of love and forgiveness.  I admire your openness to share your situation and ask for help.  I can say, that is one of the first steps to healing (confessing what we have done to someone). Don't lose hope or give up because I believe that God has a great plan for you.  I would suggest that you talk to God (in your own words, however you want to talk to Him, just like a friend) and ask Him to forgive you first; make amends with Him and connect with Him.  He promised in His Word that He will and is faithful to forgive us from our mistakes (sins) and to wash us from all our “dirtiness” (unrighteousness) – 1 John 1:9.  Tell Him that you want to change, forgive others, be rid of anger, and that you need His help to be able to do this.

Nothing is impossible with God.  He can totally turn your world upside down (for the good!) I am believing that your situation will get better and even turn out for the best when you start fully trusting God.  Life is always going to be hard, but when we learn to trust in God, it doesn't matter how hard life gets… we have Someone we can look to and know that He will NEVER let us down!

If you can, come and visit us @ church.  We would love to meet and talk with you! Smile

An excerpt from last Fridays Devotion From Pastor Greg Laurie “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death” (Philippians 3:10). Part of knowing God is not only in the power of His resurrection, but also in His suffering.

check out the entire devotional a good read http://www.harvest.org/devotio…..2009-10-02

hope it helps

Hello Tiff55,

As hopeless as you may feel you are on the right track. Just the fact that you see you need a change and that Jesus is the only answer is already step one. And by the way thats faith! Faith is never lost in our lives and I think you proved that! However, we can choose whether or not will will activate that faith in our lives. Like you've said you have allowed negative things to pull you down. So lets let the word of God pull you up. Its as easy as opening your bible. There is nothing to loose but only an opportunity to gain change.I can help you? I would love the opportunity to help you take a step in turning your life around. I'm here at your service just ask!
