Luke 5:36 “… No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on an old one. If he does, he will have torn the new garment, and the path from the new will not match the old.”

God’s creation are with specific purpose for a specific place and a specific season.

Although other people, other places, and other times offered much beauty in them, we are when we ought to be, where we ought to be, and who we ought to be. Let’s enjoy everything God has made us to be, right where we are, right now.

There is one thing I've always wondered about this topic. What if the person that I am today is shaped by disobedience to God's commandments instead of living in righteousness? Does that mean that I am still who I ought to be, in God's eyes?

For example – some weaknesses in my personality have always been susceptibility to sloth and gluttony – therefore the person I am today is overweight and out of shape. Does that mean that God has created me to be this way and this is exactly what He meant for me to be?

I suspect that this has something to do with God's permissive will vs. His perfect will and in any case I have faith that His power will be revealed in my weakness. I just wanted to post this here because it's something that I think about from time to time and your devo reminded me of it.
