Earlier today I was asking myself if I should have spent all that money on the turbo.

15 mintues earlier…
I'm on my way home from work, it was a mildly hot day ~82*F. Newly relocated AC lines = no AC. Car is running warm from the light traffic on the freeway, so I have my heat vents open to help control temps. It was getting hot inside the car.

I exited the freeway at about 6pm towards home, the ambient air is nice, cool, and crisp. I'm in quest of a street light so I can finally drop my soft top.The street I'm on stretches for about 2-3 miles of straight with newly paved asphalt and light traffic. The only obstacles holding me back from a WOT 0-120mph escapade are 5 evenly spaced out stoplights.

While driving I see a G37 in the next lane, I down shift into 2nd. I'm 4500 rpms with anticipation…. false alarm, it was an old Korean lady, I guess she didn't want any of “this” (I find it funny that ever since being turbo'd, I seem to “size up” everything on the road and wonder if I can “take it”?)

Adrenaline fading – I finally catch sight of a yellowing stoplight. Eagerly Looking forward to the cool outside air, I liberate the latches holding down the vinyl top of my self induced oven before even coming to a stop. I finally get to extinguish my heat issue as the top goes down in sub 6 sec. I looked to my left and there sits a bright red Ford Mustang GT with OEM wheels and exhaust (looked like an 04). Still basking in my relief, I thought nothing of it.

The light turns green…
We both accelerate into first gear like any other commuter on the road and then all of a sudden I hear the rumble of the V8 and the mustang getting smaller in view!Surprised  I thought “what? He want's some of this

I thoughtlessly mash the “go” pedal trying to make up for lost real estate and instantly spin my tires at 6k rpms, he's now maybe 1.5 cars ahead! I immediately shifted (early) into 2nd and stopped the bleeding. Now with a more composed midset, I feather the throttle to minimize spin as boost ramps up. I catch up to about .5 behind .I lose traction again now at ~8k. Shift (again early) into 3rd now but didn't lose any ground. Now with even less feathering, 3rd finally hooks and I feel my body sink into my standard issue recaro seat and at that very same time, it looked like he and everything else around me stomped on the brakes! I flew passed him with a frightened look on my face (I still need to get used to this forced induced motoring stuff).

I was a little afraid to take my eyes off the road, but I could have sworn I saw 3 orange digits flickering in front of me.
… and yes, there were bus lengths involved. Smile

I wiped the cold sweat off my brow and picked up my palpitating heart off my lap and back into my chest as I came to the final stoplight. I waited for him to catch up to give a friendly wave.
he said “Wow that thing is a beast!”
I replied, “thanks! That was fun!”
He asked, “how much did you pay for that new?”
I said, “about 30″
“I paid 27 for mine, I should have gotten one of those!”

What I forgot to mention was that I was pushing 19psi on a built motor.
I don't think he'll be racing any S2000 anymore since a stock one just beat him.

We both chuckled and said our goodbyes and resumed our regularly programmed schedule.

money well spent

will a 370z beat your car?  No Idea

how can we even expect to hear from God when we don’t even care to listen to what He’s said before.

not a stock one.  I'm at ~500+hp to the wheels and I weigh 2800 lbs.

I think the G37 is about 300hp to the wheels and 3600 lbs. So not unless it's turbo'd and has at least 650 whp to beat me in a 1/4mi race. (Theoretically) Or he can just be a better driver than me, he can beat me Stressed Out

I'm pretty sure that Ezekiel 10:6-7 and Ezekiel 10:9-12 mentions Sarek's car with a turbocharger and some chromed-out wheels.

or something like that…

a work in progress
