Last Friday, fcfUth learned to write a personalized psalm in the form of David's 23rd Psalm. We were reminded that our God is personal and He ministers to us in specific ways. Our individual relationship with Him is unique and creative. Each personalize psalm written was based on how they view their personal relationship with God. So, hoping to see some examples of what they've written.
Here's mine to start with (please don't laugh, I'm no poetry genius. just speaking from the heart)
. I describe my relationship with God as like a Traveller to a Travel Guide.
The Lord is my Travel Guide;
I shall not get lost
He maketh me pass through scenic routes;
He leadeth me to memorable places
He guideth me in paved roads of righteousness
for His name’s sake
Yea, though I walk through unknown places;
I will not fear anything; for Thou art with me
Thy compass and thy map
they keepeth me on track
Thou preparest a clear course before me
in the presence of my roadblocks
Thou anointest my heart with security;
my trust in Thou overflows
Surely instructions and direction will guide me all the days of my life
And I will remain in my Travel Guide’s itinerary forever
I encourage you to write your own. Here's the format we used:
Verse 1: who God is in relation to you – 2 phrases
Verse 2: where He puts you – 2 phrases
Verse 3: the walk you have with Him – 2 phrases
Verse 4: potential danger and His protection – 3 phrases
Verse 5: God’s provision – 3 phrases
Verse 6: your future in this special relationship with God – 2 phrases
