SBC Day of Prayer

There is an urgent call for prayer initiated by our denomination but everyone is encouraged to participate.

What: Day of Fasting, Prayer, and Repentance

When: January 31, 2010 (an all-through-the-day observance)

Why: Many have forgotten our first love (Revelation 2:4) and need revival in the church.

Objective: The goal is for all of us to “Be still and know that God is God,” as a sign of our humility and desire to wholeheartedly return to Him.

Some Suggested Action Steps:

1. Hold prayer gatherings in our Sunday School classes and/or Bible study groups

2. Families to have focused prayer time. For example, an extended prayer before the evening meal, or before sleeping asking for cleansing and God’s presence.

3. Pray for the homes and communities you’re driving by or walking through, or while you’re running errands.Pray for repentance and salvation.

4. Pray for thousands of our churches and our pastors.
